Precision paper cuts
Paper cut artist Kanako Abe uses the traditional Japanese stencilling technique Ise-katagami to create incredibly intricate artworks by hand. Take a look at her Instagram account for more stunning pieces.
Stop frame wizardry
The Bentler brothers (aka BrickBrosProductions) started making Lego-based stop motion animations around 2008. Since then they've honed their skills to create seamless, charming films with the latest documenting the art of 'wood'-working.
Teach the reach
The ‘Dutch Reach’ isn't just something done in the back-streets of Amsterdam. In fact it should be taught throughout the world. It's a simple technique used to stop drivers opening car doors onto cyclists by using their far hand. It’s potentially life-saving too.
Smart scribbles
Google have made a web-based drawing tool that changes simple doodles into iconography and clipart using the power of AI. Just draw a rough representation of the object and the computer will do the rest. You can even submit your own creations.
Crafted ceramics
Natalie Wood is a ceramicist who believes in 'simple objects and clean forms that are both decorative and functional'. Her contemporary tableware line Detsu fits that description to a tee and is available in a range of pleasing pastel shades.
