This month’s collection of finds revolves around movement. From the mesmerising pulse of jellyfish and a peek into the art of moving letters, to an innovative new way to transport liquids using paper bottles.

Polycycle Illumination
Designer Xuanhao Li was inspired by a documentary about sea turtles that mistook plastic bags for jellyfish. Having collected plastic film that would have gone to landfill, he used a CNC machine to cut intricate shapes that could be woven together forming a range of tabletop lamps.
Journey Milestones
Transport for London (TfL) celebrates 25 years with its “Making Every Journey Matter” campaign by VCCP and Wavemaker UK. Illustrated posters by artists Charlie Davis, Eoin Ryan, and Raj Dhunna showcase milestones from the Oyster card launch, to the 2012 Olympics.
Learn to Kern
We’re in the ‘design development’ stage with a few studio briefs at the moment, where projects are crafted, tweaked, and tested to ensure they work. I discovered a good demonstration of part of this process in this kerning game, which shows how adjusting letter spacing can improve readability and the overall appearance of words.
Conductors in Focus
Canadian photographer Victor Cheng captures Japan’s train conductors in a cinematic, Wes Anderson-esque style. His series highlights the conductors’ gestures and attention to detail, transforming everyday moments into artful scenes.
Sustainable Sips
Diageo is trialing sustainable paper bottles for Johnnie Walker and Baileys, aiming to reduce waste and carbon emissions. An interesting take on paper use and the push for eco-friendly packaging in the beverage industry.
