Weaving magic and four other finds

Five Finds is a monthly collection of five inspiring things we deemed worthy of sharing. If you’d like inspiration in your inbox each month sign up here.

Spring has sprung and it’s birds, beachcombing, mind-bending weaves and a huge archive of digitised letterpress in your inbox this month. Pull up a stool and dive right in.

From the studio, we’re building on work we completed with THIS Institute last year helping to develop their colour palette and refine their brand guidelines. More of that soon, but first up with the developed identity is the creation of a new podcast graphic for the next series of their podcast Listen to THIS.

If you have feedback on this newsletter or have anything you’d like to see more of, get in touch. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

Keith

Weaving magic

Artist Theo Rooden is a wizard with his warp and deft with his weft – building optical illusions that appear to jump off of his loom.

Digital print

Fleckled is a new digital library of letterpress and woodblock fonts. Most of it comes from a handful of UK-based specialist dealers who salvage printing resources from print shops that are closing down.

Birds and Blooms

I’m always on the lookout for bird-based finds and these incredible paintings by artist Vasilisa Romanenko fit the bill.

THIS Institute podcast graphics

THIS Institute (The Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute) approached us with an interesting challenge. They exist to strengthen the evidence base for improving the quality and safety of healthcare. It’s serious, important work that demands clarity and credibility.

We’ve been working alongside their team to develop visual identity guidelines that can flex across their various touch points and research streams while maintaining that essential trustworthiness.

The first iteration of our work together has just launched. A podcast graphic for the second series of their ‘Listen to THIS.’ podcast.
